ABOUT THE COFFEE
Colombia Alturas de Buesaco
The town of Buesaco sits in the northwest corner of Nariño at the convergence of the three branches of the Colombian Andes, where high-altitude tropics meet markedly cooler alpine conditions, yielding rich lands ideal for coffee cultivation. Tiny coffee farms pepper the mountainsides—while the average farm in Nariño is roughly two hectares (five acres), the majority of Buesaco’s farmers hold significantly less land, delivering coffee in small quantities to local purchasing points each season.
Our exporting partner in the region, Sareni SAS, receives coffee from these farmers and focuses solely on collecting high-quality parchment. From these selections they curate intentional blends that showcase the terroir of the region and the beauty of the seasonal harvest cycle. Alturas de Buesaco presents the top coffees from the 2021 peak harvest season, and we’re delighted to be roasting it exclusively for you to enjoy.
