Guatemala La Colina
Fifteen years ago, Antonio Medina decided to plant coffee. An agronomist by trade, he fell in love with coffee through his dedication to reinvigorating his family's land. Antonio planted 82 of 465 acres with mostly Caturra, coupled with nitrogen-fixing chalum trees, providing ample shade. The remainder of the farm remains as a nature preserve. Planted between 1,600 and 1,700 meters above sea level, La Colina is located in the municipality of San Martin Jilotepeque in the town of Chimaltenango. Coffee is milled and washed and dried on the farm before being taken to Bella Vista in Antigua for dry milling. Our green buying team fell in love with the clear, bright character of this cup during a buying trip in January of this year.
