Kenya Ngethu

Raspberry, lychee, white chocolate

Ngethu is the result of a multigenerational family collaboration led by Edwin and Mary Kamau, two dedicated producers whom we’ve sourced from since 2019. This selection presents a delicate, tea-like cup with dancing acidity and notes of raspberry, tropical fruit, and white chocolate.

ABOUT THE COFFEE

Kenya Ngethu

Though newer to specialty production and farming practices, the Kamaus have been cultivating coffee since the 1950s, and their dedication is evident in the exceptional lots they provide to us each year. After purchasing from Kairima, we’re delighted to expand our partnership by bringing the second of their three family-operated farms to our menu.

On a recent visit to the Ngethu farm, we were impressed by Mary and Edwin’s Ruiru 11 variety cultivation. Developed to be resistant to coffee berry borer beetles and coffee leaf rust, this variety eliminates the need for chemical pesticides.
