Mexico Nido de Aguila

Raw honey, plum, wafer cookie

In Northern Oaxaca is a small town known as Huautla de Jimenez––a place with a mythic history. While coffee production has become increasingly scarce in this region, some producers remain active. This coffee delighted us with its spiced sweetness and silky texture.

ABOUT THE COFFEE

Mexico Nido de Aguila

Coffee cherries

Our first offering from Mexico’s 2021 harvest hails from the Mazatec region in the highlands of Northern Oaxaca, the famed birthplace of the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. This region’s enchanting valleys are habitat to diverse flora and fauna––not to mention small coffee farms operating with traditional processing methods. Nearly 700 cooperative members of the Organización Regional de Café Especial de la Mazateca contributed to this harvest.
