Agua Blanca is a small farm in Northwestern Peru bordering Alto Mayo, a protected swath of Amazonian rainforest twice the size of New York City. The area’s farmers are supported by a cooperative working to preserve both the lands and local coffee production. This harvest reflects that harmony, balancing flavors of wild berries, rose, and silken milk chocolate.

ABOUT THE COFFEE

Hernan Valle Inga has been producing coffee for over twenty years at Agua Blanca. This farm neighbors the Alto Mayo protected forestlands, home to numerous native Peruvian wildlife species as well as the upper Mayo River basin, which supplies water to the entire Mayo valley.

Hernan is a member of Coopbam, a cooperative established in 2014 with over 450 members focused on battling deforestation and protecting this native forest while providing access to education and healthcare for the farming community. Since joining Coopbam, Hernan has been able to devote more resources to coffee production, resulting in this season’s decadent harvest.
