ABOUT THE COFFEE

Colombia La Quebrada

La Quebrada presents selections from over thirty independent specialty coffee growers within the department of Huila. Many of the producers we meet from Huila are second, if not third generation coffee farmers. Specialty coffee growing, while relatively newer to the scene, has been adopted by only the most dedicated among them.

These farmers each ensure that the cultivation of their coffee is impeccable from growing to picking, processing to drying. Many of the producers contributing to this season’s lot have been designated as either ‘Maestro’ (Teacher) or ‘Leyenda’ (Legend) by our exporting partners in the region. This recognition means they have completed training programs designed to enhance their farming and processing techniques and now serve as role models and leaders for other producers in the area.

We’ve consistently sought out coffees from Huila for their comforting sweetness, balanced acidity, and complex, fruit-forward flavor profiles—and this coffee offers a beautiful representation of just that.
